Week of December 15-19, 2014

Hello Room 4 Families
We are so busy in room 4 learning, working, and getting ready for the holidays!

Here is what we have coming up:

Important Dates

Tonight, 12/12: Winter Craft Fair, 6-8 pm in the cafeteria.

Friday, December 19: Free dress day; Room 4 holiday celebration, 11:45-12:45 pm. Thank you to everyone who has been sending in supplies for this. I think we have everything we need, and plenty of parent helpers!

12/22-1/2/15: NO SCHOOL; Happy holidays!!

Monday, 1/19: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; no school

Friday, 1/23: Room 4 to work in the school garden, 8:45-9:30 am. Please let me know if you'd like to come help out that day.

Tuesday, February 3: Field trip to the Sacramento Children's Theater production of The Artful Mouse.
We are limited to 3 fingerprinted parent chaperones for this field trip. If you would like to attend and didn't get a chance to come to the pumpkin patch, please let me know.

Language Arts
Letter/sound focus: long o, long u, /p/,  and short a.
New sight word: at
Writing: This week we will write about what we would do if we were an elf, and begin a procedural paragraph on how to dress a snowman.

Math

This week we will review what we have learned so far this year. Near the end of the week the kids will take a test on the first 5 chapters we have covered on numbers 1-100 and comparing numbers 1-20.

Parent help during centers
We are looking for someone to help out on Tuesday mornings during centers time from 8:10-9:00am.
This would be every other Tuesday  begining on the 13th of January. If this is something you're interested in, or want more information, please let me know!
