Week of November 12-16, 2018

Hello families,
November is off to a super start. We've been talking and writing about what we are thankful for in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. It's hard to believe we are wrapping up our first trimester. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you during our conference week!

Here is what we have coming up:

Monday, 11/12: NO SCHOOL; Veterans Day observed

Friday, 11/16 and the week of 11/26-30: Minimum days for parent/teacher conferences. On these days I will walk the kids to the cafeteria at 11:40am. You are welcome to pick them up then from our line or to pick them up at 12 when they are finished eating. Kids who go to 4th R will eat in the cafeteria and a 4th R staff member will pick them up at 12.

Week of 11/19-23: NO SCHOOL; Thanksgiving Holiday

Friday, 11/30: Last Friday of the month free dress.

Language Arts
We are reading and writing about what living things need to survive. The kids are learning about the features of informational text, such as headings, labels, and captions. We are working on writing a paragraph about how to take care of a cat.

Math
This week we continue working with shapes. We will focus on 3-dimensional shapes.

Thanks for reading, everyone!
