It's hard to believe we are heading into 2015. I am so proud of the work the kids have done so far this year. They have learned so much, and there is no stopping them!
Here is what we have coming up:
Important Dates:
TODAY, December 19: Free dress day; Room 4 holiday celebration, 11:45-12:45 pm. Thank you to everyone who has been sending in supplies for this. I think we have everything we need, and plenty of parent helpers!
12/22-1/2/15: NO SCHOOL; Happy holidays!!
Monday, 1/19: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; no school
Friday, 1/23: Room 4 to work in the school garden, 8:45-9:30 am. Please let me know if you'd like to come help out that day.
Friday, February 13 (PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE!) : Field trip to the Sacramento Children's Theater production of The Artful Mouse.
We are limited to 3 fingerprinted parent chaperones for this field trip. If you would like to attend and didn't get a chance to come to the pumpkin patch, please let me know.
Language Arts:
Letter/sound focus: /h/, /t/, short o.
New sight words: like, too
We will begin reading and writing informational text in January.
Math:
We will begin a new chapter on understanding addition. Watch for lots of practice with this in the homework!
