Week of September 23-27, 2013

Hello Room 4 Families
We had another super week in Room 4. Thanks to everyone who came to Back-to-School night. I hope I answered your questions and didn't bore you too much!

Here's what we have coming up next week:

Monday, September 23: We will be starting classroom centers with our parent and grandparent helpers. Thank you in advance to those family members who are going to volunteer in the class on a regular basis. We still need one more person for Wednesday mornings. Please let me know if you'd like to help out.

Thursday, September 26: "Apple Day" Please send an apple to school with your child. It can be any color. We will use the apples for a few lessons during the day. I would love to have 1-2 parent helpers that day at 11:45. Let me know if you're available and want to help.

Friday, September 27: Free dress day. Please remember clothing needs to be school appropriate with shoes kids can comfortably run around in.

Social Studies:
We will be starting our first social studies unit this week. The theme is "Learning to Work Together," and we will be talking and learning all about how to successfully work as a team in school.

5th grade buddies:
On Friday our class will meet our 5th grade buddies from Mr. Burkhouse's class. Our 5th grade buddies will come to our classroom on Friday mornings to read with us, work on projects, or work in the school garden. Thanks for reading, everyone. Have a great weekend, and please email me if you have any questions!
